SEARCH TIPS

  • Try to use more than one word when searching, in order to get more relevant results on the first pages.

  • If a certain sequence of words needs to be found exactly as written, use double quotes around that sequence. For example, the query "pain relief" will display only the pages that contain that exact phrase.

  • To enhance search results, you might want to use the advanced search features, which are displayed when clicking the "Advanced search" link below the search edit box. By default the engine returns only pages that contain ALL words from the query. However, the option of returning pages that contain ANY of the words is also available. Using this option will return more pages, but the search will be less precise

  • If the results are listed on more than one page, make sure to check out more than the first results page. Because only 10 results are displayed on a page, and there can be up to 3 links from the same resource grouped together, top relevant medical links can be displayed up to page number 10.

  • If not enough medical search results are returned, the user has the option to send the same query to the more generic Web Metasearch Engine, by clicking on the "Web" tab. Please note however, the web search results will not be limited any more to the careful selected medical resources of the medical search engine, but they will come from the whole world wide web. Results from unreliable web sites may be returned in this case. Click on the "Health & Medicine" tab to return to the medical search engine.
